AMI’s new AssetTrack® version 3.5 offers big steps forward in compatibility, usability and security
The culmination of nine months of development and testing, AMI is pleased to announce the latest upgrade to their acclaimed AssetTrack™ technology, version 3.5.
“3.5 is a terrific suite of new features,” says AMI President and CEO Thomas Watson. “Every change was in response to a combination of customer feedback and our close monitoring of changes in asset management techniques and technology. The result is a product that improves compatibility, enables better processes and improves security.”
RFID
Version 3.5 is fully up to date with current and anticipated RFID applications. It provides support for both mobile and fixed RFID hardware. This lets you capture assets you can’t even see, and automatically notifies you – without human intervention – as assets are moved in and out of a location.
Procurement System Integration
New add-on modules designed for Version 3.5 include a Procurement Module, which enables users of popular procurement products such as PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle P2P and others to tie asset management and fixed asset management into one mobile process. The Spreadsheet Import Module eliminates manually uploading spreadsheets and CSV files. Most important, however, it ensures that the data you collect is validated, cleaned and integrated with your asset repository.
Improved Compatibility with CA and HP Asset Manager
AssetTrack™ 3.5 integrates perfectly with HP Asset Manager 9.3, CA Asset Portfolio Management 12.6 and CA Service Desk 12.6. In addition, the new Configurable File Export function lets data collected and validated by AssetTrack™ to be published to any system without custom development.
Monitoring and controlling ITAM lifecycle processes is easier and more accurate than ever with AssetTrack™ 3.5. With it a user of CA APM can easily design forms that automate the deactivation of assets. The Shell Record Validator automatically requires asset records to be properly configured prior to publishing.
Other enhancements
AssetTrack™ is now even easier to use. For example, it “remembers” your preferred configuration of view in the queue, presenting you with the same column and sort order every time. An improved installer simplifies upgrades, eliminating the need to run SQL database patches directly against the database. With the Scheduled Sync function, mobile devices can be synced when not in use – no more waiting for data downloads.
Tighter Security
AssetTrack 3.5 is the ideal solution for even the highest security environments, such as those in finance and the military. Its enforced security functions, such as activity timeouts, administrative lockouts and strong password policies effectively protect against unauthorized access. There’s now no more managing passwords in AssetTrack™. Just use Active Directory usernames and passwords for AssetTrack™ access.
